Probably not as far, but he's unquestionably worked hard at his craft and done stuff that a man of his appearance shouldn't need to

He was unquestionably a pretty / beautiful man in Thelma / Legends of the Fall / Interview...and could have skated free and clear for a long while on that.
He then did 12 Monkeys, Seven, Fight Club because he didn't want to be that pretty boy who also kinda acted.
