I didn't see the beat-down, but apparently Cole had a questioning look so they can set-up any number of outcomes there.
They could turn him in a few months after he's been pushed aside by his faction...they could get a heel vs heel feud over the belt....
fans might be a bit confused but a good story doesn't need a black hat and a white hat.
