Except they didn't break their word. They didn't shop him by calling them, they reached out to the Jets for Adams. Douglas asked for a lot to likely -- (edited)

see how much they were willing to give up for him. If he's going to trade Adams he's going to need to get a lot in return and a late first round pick isn't going to be enough
