They key point from B2 is that, whoever the Dem nominee is, even if it's vanilla Biden, GOP is going to scream SOCIALISM

Yes, but it doesn't land the same way on Biden as Warren. That's why they're attacking him differently. And I think it's less effective.

I'm not a fan of Biden and think he will step in something else along the way, but the attacks on him are more personal and I don't think those are as powerful.
Responses:
The reason the attacks are more personal with Biden is because his policies are closer to what the GOP prefers. They'll attack his policies, yes, but

If the GOP successfully runs him as: "just another middling politician," he is doomed. The anger that sent a lot of people to Trump in 2016 is rightf

There aren’t many ironies bigger than “I’m angry about rich people and their kids getting things the easy way, so I’m voting for Donald Trump” -- nm

It would be strange for the ones who were motivated to vote Trump last time to think he's solved any of those issues. -- nm

See I still think there are the "never Trump republicans" that would happily sign on for 4 years of as close as they can get to Obama, but will vote

Nope. Never Trumpers will either vote for him or stay home. There is no reason to court them as they still support his policies even if they are -- (edited)

That's just not true. Seriously. I know several people who fall into that category. Many of them didn't vote for Trump in 2016. Some don't even

This is what I'm saying, and if we lose with Warren, those people are to thank/blame. Selfishness -- nm

I mean, ok. But maybe we win with a different candidate. That's what we're discussing here.

But maybe he’s not the right candidate if he can’t credibly run ok the issues that matter

Then fuck em. I'll stick with principle over appeasing someone who thinks corruption is better than a higher marginal tax rate.

No offense, but that is tunnelvision. Again, I'm not saying she deserves to lose, but winning here is more important than purity of ideology. I

Your posture could equally be seen as tunnel vision. It is a fact that there are more people in this country that are middle class than are well to do

There's the presumption that the center message is more popular than the progressive message. I think recent election results mostly indicate that

Honestly I think the people who are motivated by Biden are people who are just tired of all the fighting. He feels safer to them.
