In response to "Laughing at people labeling Fiona Hill with a "Prince Andrew" British accent. I realize for a bunch of people all British accents sound the same, but" by Reagen

Loads of people are lousy at accents. Foreign and domestic.

On one trip to Europe I discovered a skill a lot of people don't have, translating English in one foreign accent for people with a diffent one. And most of them couldn't identify the accents either. I can.

There's US citizens out there who can't tell some southern accents from a northern one, much less tell a Scot from an Irishman, much less know the difference between someone from Norhtern Ireland and Ireland.
