Well it's assistance. You can still eat more than what you get in food stamps. If you get 200 bucks in food stamps you can throw in a few bucks of

your own money. It doesn't say anywhere you only get to eat 200 bucks worth of food. Dependancy is so evil. It changes your mindset.
