My choices for grocery stores were: (1) Whole Foods in the yuppy DuPont Circle neighborhood 20 blocks away; (2) the "Soviet Safeway" in the yuppy DuPont Circle neighborhood 20 blocks away; (3) a Giant in a semi-sketchy neighborhood about 12 blocks away; or (4) another Giant accessible by Metro, which took 30 minutes and a transfer.
