when her father's third wife passed away he decided not to remarry - wives cost too much. At the time she was 11 and had to drop out of school to make sure that her 10 younger siblings were cared for, all the cooking/house work completed for family and 4 farm hands. did I mention there was no electicity? married at 13 she had all three of her children by the time she was 17. she was married a total of 5 times before she died at 100. she was a harder worker than almost everyone i can think of a fraction of her age. she wasn't in a nursing home when she passed. she's my hero
