Hey, do you know anything about Murphy's history?

I ask because the Shepard I had growing up was also deathly afraid of hoses, to the point where if you came out into the yard and walked towards the hose he'd run to the back of the yard. We came to find out that the people that had him before we got him at 6-8 months old used to "discipline" him and the other dogs in his litter with the hose.
He never got comfortable around them so we always had to give him a bath using several large buckets.
