So overnight/this morning, this happened on my local PoGo discord (good story, no drama)

One of our members found a wallet on the subway belonging to a young Chinese man. It had a decent amount of US cash, some Chinese bills, and of course his ID and credit cards. The guy from Discord turned it into the police, but was also trying to see if he could find a way to contact the guy who lost the wallet.

So he enlisted the help of some people on the discord who used the guy's name to find him on LinkedIn to try to contact him that way. And also reached out to his alumni association to see if they knew how to contact him.

Then they found a clip of a Chinese TV variety show that the guy was on recently. One of our members who is Chinese-American knows the show and knows it's popular and said that it's not often that a regular person gets on the show. BUT more than that, this member of our Discord *knows the director of the show*. (Small. world.)

So she reaches out to the director to see if they remember the guy (the episode just aired in December) and if perhaps they have his contact info.

Turns out they have the contact info.

The guy didn't even realize he had lost his wallet until the director from China contacted him.
