I don't think that's really a fair characterization of Bloomberg at this point (though he's definitely more centrist).

He's pretty strong on the environment, guns and other social issues and he does favor Obamacare expansion much like Biden. He also favors restructuring taxes to make them more progressive, though probably not as much as others (haven't seen a clear plan on that other than the statement that he wants to tax the rich more). So he's definitely not what we'd call a Republican today (maybe more like one from 40-50 years ago).
