From either skiing (mostly year round), gorgeous hikes in the Columbia Gorge, some of the best wineries in the country, and the northern part of the Oregon Coast (where you can see Tillamook cheese being made and the Spruce Goose in all its glory).
Also no sales tax, and food and drink are fairly cheap.
If you come in the summer, we've got great soccer teams -- the Timbers and the Thorns. If you come in the winter, we've got a good NBA team and a great WHL team.
And no matter when you arrive, there is probably a beer fest or music fest going on around town.
