It really isn't a priority. This group is not in the habit of using edit to maliciously change the look of the discussion.

But, if you ever did find other user bases for this, any edit function needs to retain a link to the original post.
Facebook does that with their edit, which is good.
Twitter doesn't allow edits because there's no good way to implement it that wouldn't create HUGE abuse issues.
