Those are awesome! I get where you're coming from but if the narrator isn't dry and adds some wit the podcasts can suck you in.

There have been plenty I stopped listening to because it was like listening to the encyclopedia or a dull history teacher. Some are way too monotone.
But there are some really entertaining and interesting history podcasts. One I've really enjoyed is Infamous America
