Considering the economy will inevitably turn at some point (during the next admin? Who knows, since it's felt due for so long, maybe it can hold out)

But if the economy DOES turn during the next admin, the progressive wing of the party is better have a Centrist Dem in power to blame it on. The economy turning with the first progressive POTUS (even if it's not his fault, which much of the economic cycle isn't!) will kill progressive candidates for a generation at least.
