You're not wrong. But some git deciding another passenger is the problem here and not seat pitch...

If back seat +1 can't recline to accommodate back seat, then why should back seat +2 be able to recline? The cascade effect is that no one reclines so that the person in the very back seat isn't inconvenienced.
So maybe a single person dictating the comfort of everyone else is what's ruining the world.
Though I think basic corporate greed might be the real culprit here.
