I enrolled in a university class back in August but had to drop out shortly into the semester because of some of the family situational crap that was going on. I got sent something from the university a few weeks ago for tax purposes. (an I=9 I think?) …

even though I had to drop out, and didn't finish the semester, do I have to include this in my returns? and will it really benefit me any to do so?

P.S. (edit) there was no financial aid involved. I was paying for the class out of pocket … if it makes any difference ...
