Standard deduction shouldn’t apply I don’t think, unless they’ve changed it or I’m misremembering. -- (edited)

Tuition and fees deduction is an “above the line” adjustment to AGI, not an itemized deduction. The other primary education benefits are tax credits, so would be taken regardless, unless you’re above the income thresholds, I guess. Size of your refund is irrelevant to this discussion.
