Shocked, I am, that Bernie helped draft rules to prevent him losing like in 2016, only to find he can't win by these new rules either

If the nomination requires 50%+1 delegates and he can't get that on the first ballot, and loses on a subsequent ballot because a majority coalesces around someone else, that's how ranked choice works.
I'm all for ranked choice because it gets us the nominee with the broadest appeal
