b2 answer: 6 times in 43 elections, but three of those were essentially two-party elections.

1984 Mulroney: 50.03%
1958 Diefenbaker: 53.67%
1940 Mackenzie King: 51.35%
1917 Borden: 56.93%
1904 Laurier: 50.9%
1900 Laurier: 50.3%

the earliest three were all basically two-party. a couple other parties in all of them, but nobody with candidates in more than about 10% of seats.
