2nd only to Toy Story on merchandising (if even that). I wonder how DVD sales fared.

3 Pixar movies later, Disney's still selling Cars toys (towels, trash bins, hats, shirts) in stores. And while it's not exactly got the easiest characters to put in their them parks, they've pulled it off, making "meet and greets" with the Cars characters, and creating a Cars themed attraction at California Adventure.
