you'd maybe be ok if you didn't fly UK-Italy, and paid cash for your train ticket. they might make you put passport info for trains now, I dunno. -- nm

They don’t typically stamp anymore. Unless you were to switch airlines your entire itinerary goes to the government before you takeoff. -- (edited)

The last time I flew into the EU from the US I didn’t get stamped.

I got a stamp in Copenhagen, begged the Swedes to give me a stamp and they did, but the Norwegians just laughed and handed it back with no stamp -- nm
