I'm assuming they'll just call the regular season over, and then jump to the playoffs when they resume in May.

The 8th/9th seeds are 5.5 games and 3.5games apart.
No one's getting robbed of a legitimate playoff spot. There's minimal controversy that way.
And they can regroup and reset in a few weeks time without having to really get too creative.
