The biggest learning curve for you is going to be Veteran Free Agency signings and roster management during the season.

You want to pay VERY close attention to cap impacts of dropping a player, and adjust what you are willing to offer a guy for a contract in light of that.

i.e.
I sign a promising young rookie in the middle of the season (week 3 or 4) that appears to be on his way to starting later that season or next season.

If I sign him to a 2 year deal, I'm only on the hook for 1/4 of his salary next year if he flames out and doesn't get any snaps and I want to cut him. or I can just keep him and have a clean break when his contract ends.

But if I sign him for 4 years and he flames out next season and doesn't even make a roster, and I decide to cut him, I'm still paying 3/4 of his Year 2 salary and he's not even on my team. This is where you start seeing DEAD MONEY accumulate for your teams.

another example:
one of the dumbest things you could ever do (I did this in Year 1) is cut a guy in Week 12 on a 1-year contract that's expiring at the end of the season that has a cap penalty. You basically just penalized yourself next season 1/4 of his salary.

I'm a spreadsheet kind of guy so I've built one for my roster to help manage things.
