We’ve talked at work about hour we feel this is causing the university to jump 3-5 years into the future. We’re not only adopting technologies immediately that we thought it would take years to adopt, we’re engaging those technologies almost to the point of abuse. We’ve always been more than a bit hesitant to introduce and adopt new technologies at work. Roll outs have been slow (i.e. “hey all, we have a new e-mail system! It’s going to take 3 years to fully deploy and transition everyone”) But this week it’s been more like “Hey all, here’s a new tool we all need that’s essential!” And by the end of the week, everyone’s using the new tool. For instance, we went basically from 0-100 with Microsoft Teams practically overnight. But that’s just one example.
