Ugh... things can't be "x times smaller than" or "x times less than" something else. It's just not how math works!

"Times" is a multiplier.

I dislike that turn of phrase as well. I think they use it because fractions confuse people... so they use something more confusing. -- nm

But that's easy enough to fix. Instead of saying "X is 10x smaller than Y" (which is nonsense) just say "Y is 10x bigger than X."
