I almost added that it is someone from the hotel, not Marriott. And I agree with your thoughts here. This is how someone gets kicked down...

I know that when I worked at Ramada, some of our franchise owners from India employed a cynical business model. They'd buy Hyatt/Hilton, do no repairs on it, and then let it fall down the line until it was a Howard Johnson.
