There is copious anecdotal evidence from doctors that they had patients with pneumonia that did not respond to meds. They were sick for a long time. It was not affecting kids. This exact scenario happened to my best friend and her husband in December. They NEVER get lung infections. It was bizarre.
Do you know anyone who had a weird illness in November/December? Unexplained pneumonia?

Not in 2019, but in January I was one of multiple East coast acquaintances with an unusual 48hr 'flu' that was sinus-only with no cough. -- nm

fwiw a friend from HS runs a centre for communicable diseases at Harvard and says genetics for WA suggest January.
