I keep seeing the ‘We are on the same track as Italy, just ten days behind’ talking point but is that really a logical comparison?

The numbers are the same so far, but Italy is roughly the same size as Arizona. So the numbers are the same, but not percentages.
And yes, our population is much higher so if it goes and goes it would be terrible here. But Italy is five times denser than the US. 532 per square mile compared to 93 in the US.
Long story short, it seems weird to me to compare the two.
