They certainly do. I've cut my own hair for years but obviously it'll be much easier for men with short hair vs. women with long or styled -- (edited)

I can give myself a fade on the sides and back with no problem. I cut the top short and leave the front messy. I think it looks good when I'm done.
I've cut my own hair for years. I gave friends simple cuts as well from back when I was a teenager. Nothing styled but close cuts, fades, etc.
