If I can butt in.... for me it’s 90% Halo.

Years after it came out, I’m still playing Halo 5 at least twice/week. And I don’t think you can set aside Halo from my equation. It’s because I got an Xbox to play Halo that I subscribed to Xbox Live and I like Xbox Live’s cohesiveness and integration. Cohesiveness because it functions across all online games (didn’t PlayStation put online gaming on the developer so that each game has its own online mode?) and integration because it’s part of the Microsoft ecosystem (my Windows games are also part of Xbox Live and I can get “achievements” playing freaking Solitaire now). The controller, I would argue, is preferable to the PS controller but I suppose that’s a matter of personal preference. If I spent years playing PlayStation, I’d say that controller was preferable. And now I’m much too entrenched in Xbox. I’ve got *HUNDREDS* of games on Xbox. God forbid I play any of them, but I did spend countless hours playing many many Xbox games with my kids in the past. The LEGO games, Fable Heroes, and more. And most of them I got because I was an Xbox Live subscriber. I’d say PlayStation was REALLY late to the online world and didn’t have a cohesive approach. Wasn’t it just last year that they allowed cross-platform play for Fortnite? It shows how backwards their thinking is. Microsoft may have been a very insular company once, but they’ve seen how it benefits to be more open now (i.e. they used to have Windows Phone, now I can connect my Android phone to my desktop; or the fact that I can now say “OK Google, turn on my Xbox”).
