Ruth is that the current system DOES pick who dies - spoilers it’s not those of us who have jobs that can be done from home (which also happens to be the people making the decisions)
If amazon delivery people were also congresspeople I bet the approach would be— we stay home to flatten the curve you guys live without us for three months!
