I mean, the companies aren't going to shut down, they need to (try to) make money still.

And people can use the apps to try to 'meet' people over chat/e-mail/phone and wait to meet in-person later. It's not like it's all hookups
But still.
The friends who told you it was dead....were they lamenting that fact?
