who defines essential? what if my job requires all the tech items which may not be essential.

why would amazon give up that business to lowes, homedepot, walmart. etc?
That would just mean that Amazon would have to pay less, or reduce the # of locations, but I doubt it would result in say fewer people at the still functioning distribution centers.
Its a free market economy, we shouldnt expect that a company would willingly give up $ (we might hope that they would, or make all non-essential items clearly defined and also having at least a 2 week shipping policy).
