better than nothing in a pinch, but the American Society of Anesthesiologists issued guidance more than a month ago that they shouldn't be used.

That was a month ago. Other medical orgs (overseas, mostly) made bipap (different from cpap) work.

I would expect the advisory to change in the face of the escalating crisis. If it doesn't change, a lot of people will die who don't need to. -- nm
