In response to "Here the A/C seems to be limited. It also takes away from summer programs, camps, summer employment, etc. It would need to be in every school so" by Krusty

There's already school districts with a mix of the year round and regular schedules so it wouldn't have to a complete switch -- (edited)

My family lived through about two years of my brother and I being on separate school schedules so that's not impossible either

We were both at a year around school for about a school year and a half. We were on B track and the notable thing about that track was that our periodic break was immediately after winter break. We had some glorious family trips in January to tourist destinations all but deserted in the calm after the storm of the holidays.

Bit of background, at our elementary school there were four lettered tracks: A-D. At any given time, three tracks were in session while one was out. This had been implemented at that particular school due to capacity issues. Use the same facilities but have more students.

Then I went to junior high starting at 7th grade. So for approximately a couple of years, my brother and I had different vacation schedules. I don't remember it being any big deal for the family.

Maybe it had something to do that we'd moved five times by that point in my life (four that I remember, I don't remember anything about being born or being in Minnesota, I just remember being at the next stop, Denver). Different school schedules were probably kind of minor in comparison to packing up an leaving one place for another
