This seems weird to say but I think I’m over all the charity examples.

I mean on one hand it’s great that people are helping others but on the other all it is doing for me know is highlighting the MASSIVE inequality between a small group of people and the masses.
The Tyler Perry thing is great. But the fact that he can do it or needs to do it is absurd.
Oh, you need food? Here take some money off this extra pile I keep in the guest room of my chalet. I hardly go there anyway. I just use it for tax purposes.
And all the businesses now taking care of people is great but it’s what we should be doing anyway.
I don’t know. Maybe I’ve just got too much time to think. But every time I see those posts or tweets now, my first thought isn’t ‘thats great’ it’s ‘that’s absurd’.

I've become a bit more cynical when I see pictures of "hey we brought all this [food/supplies/whatever] to the hospital!"

I never got back to colin on this, but I like them, for multiple reasons. The one I will state here is we are a greater people than our government -- nm

One effect I think will take place is more people will become involved in politics, community activism etc to challenge the status quo. -- nm

This time definitely highlights (even more than usual) things we as a society should be doing better about *in normal times*. Like every day. Always. -- nm
