I'm strictly a rhythm guitar player at this point for similar reasons. The band I play in is essentially a class put together at the Old Town School

of Folk Music. They have a wide variety of bands that you can join with a teacher helping you learn the songs and holding things together. So it doesn't take a ton of time (we get together for an hour and a half once a week) and play out at some bar about every 4-8 weeks. We've got about 7 guitar players so it doesn't really matter if I screw up too much because I'm pretty much drowned out anyway. We do a mix of classic rock, soul and pop covers (lately we've been doing a fair amount of 90's rock/grunge). Interestingly John Prine was pretty involved with the Old Town School (taught there at one point and played there often). Looks like rehearsal may get pushed tonight and instead do a John Prine play along that the school is organizing on line.
