In this, she knows she’s dead one way or another vs Thanos. So she accomplished something in dying...but she was dead either way.
The real version, she made a choice to die or let someone else die. She had a choice and chose to make an heroic sacrifice...all the 3 non-super humans tried to kill themselves. Only Renner couldn’t finish it off.
But they all chose to die instead of trying to live to find another way.
