Why do you say it would be 'more satisfying' and 'more effective'?

seriously
keep in mind, I can be a real bitch when I'm out in a crowd and I can't abide stupid people, but I've found a simple "excuse me", possibly even repeated once or twice suffices. If I'm behind the person and they don't seem to notice, I'll tap them on the shoulder and say it again, it's never gone beyond that. I figure it's my job to run my errand, shop, etc, not educate or punish people. Face it, if they don't have manners by the time they're an adult, it ain't happening.
