Yes he is. But this time, I don't think it's sticking (widely). The reality here is most people are actually following this. It's everywhere and so

he's having a harder time avoiding the facts. Yes, the people who have Fox News on 24/7 are still going to fall for it. But people who are exposed to almost any amount of anything else can't avoid the reality here. It's just different because most of the stuff that he does this is less obviously impacting people's day to day lives. This is a 24/7 personal issue for everyone.
