I can and that's a crazy situation. IMO, the pinch runner should have been taken back and Molina allowed to run out the HR. -- nm

The Tim Welke rule states that if a substitution is made before an appeal, the substitution stands even if the appeal is granted.

In this specific situation the thought by everyone was it was a single and proceeded as such until they saw the mark on the ball.
