I finally watched Survivor. (spoilers)

This episode is an example of why they should show the votes as well as the reasoning. They post the votes on Youtube, but they just have music over people saying why they picked who they picked. Michelle just threw up a shrug. So it doesn't seem like she was with the 5, it seems like she was voting to avoid a tie. Unfortunately for her group she didn't realize that the other group was inept at voting.
If Jeremy had stayed, he was the obvious vote. Sarah uses her steal a vote, probably on Denise. That gives them 6-4 advantage. They all vote Jeremy, his group votes Sophie. It comes down to who Kim tries to save with her idol. Of course, Sarah could do something stupid like steal Jeremy's vote. Then he leaves and it's 5-4 instead of 6-4 and again Kim just has to pick the right person to protect.
Another reason the audio would be nice is to find out where the voting went wrong. It should have obviously been a 3-3 split so that their worst case scenario is a tie. Then they all vote out Tyson. I do want to know what would happen if it was a 3-way tie. I thought on ties the people at risk didn't vote, but I can only remember ties between 2 people. Doing it the same way in a 3-way tie really gives an advantage to the majority alliance. It's such an advantage that Kim and Michelle might as well vote Tyson. The bigger question is what happens to the vote Sarah took from Denise. Is it still hers? Does it somehow still count as Denise's vote until voting happens? If so, does Sarah still get to play it or is it subject to the players in a tie don't vote rule? It would be moot in this situation, but it could come up in the future. Even with those questions, someone in that group screwed up. They should have had a guaranteed win. They almost put themselves in the minority alliance instead. If Michelle sticks with her group and Kim plays her idol correctly, Sophie goes home. Then they get back to camp and everyone argues over who screwed up the vote.
I also don't think the other group is an alliance. They're just the people the other alliance doesn't want. I also don't think Michelle knew Kim had an idol. That explains her vote as she was trying to protect whichever person in that group was the proposed tie with Tyson. If that's the case it's a great move on her part in a situation where the other people are competent. It what Kim should have actually done instead of playing her idol for Denise. When Jeremy left they still had a chance to gain the advantage if she played her idol correctly. As soon as Sarah used her advantage it was a loss for Kim's group. Or at least it should have been.
