I feel wicked bad for my boss. He got a big promotion out of my dept to a director-level position.

Then we lost a couple big contracts, and they are doing a budget review, and they just today told him they were killing the open position he had gotten. So now he's back here. We need to cancel the department going away party on Wed now. Totally sucks for him (although, in the short term, it makes my job a million times easier).
