do you honestly think that every person who has a tattoo (including, say, me) felt 'incomplete, or that it improved my life or confidence'?

no, i did it because i wanted to. it fit my personality, it was something i *liked* (aka i didn't pick something i found unattractive, i picked something i thought was *enhancing*).
not everyone is deep and not everyone is shallow. don't pretend that tattoos are some marker that sets the wearer apart.
i can show you a million girls with butterflies on their ankle that prove it's not all that much a 'unique indentifier.'
