Friday afternoon. OK. Background. Friend and husband owned a small IT business in DC area, they specialized in doing database stuff in Africa. For a couple of years they had financial struggles and shut down the company at the end of last year. They did not take any salary for over a year. They got a job contracting with another company doing the same stuff, that's why they went to Africa. They had to pay for the trip out of pocket (and be reimbursed). So. This frantic phone call said. "Our travel agency is saying if we do not pay for our flights before COB today, they will cancel the flights and we will be stuck in Africa. We don't have any credit cards that work. The price is $3500. Can you please pay them, we will pay you back."
