Delivery and curbside pick up are going to be defacto. Walking into a store to shop around will be an "experience".

Back in the 80s, I remember "catalog stores" where you looked through the catalog at the front of the store, then gave a slip to the clerk at the counter, who went in back and brought you your item. It's that, except with the Internet. This will hurt retail as impulse buys will certainly suffer. But this is where we were going anyway. Amazon was making this happen. The retail footprint worldwide is going to shrink immensely. Malls - as we already knew - are dead. Only a handful of experiential malls - almost like amusement parks (Mall of America, West Edmonton Mall, etc.) - will survive.
Ironically, this will likely revitalize town centers as that's essentially what these experiential malls try to emulate.
