Bioshock Infinite spoilers

You get much better at gameplay on repeat attempts.

For example, the Undertow attack will shove soldiers off the flying ships. So, that sequence is a cakewalk.

As for it not being a Bioshock game, I told you that it would make sense by the end. You're not there yet. You need play the DLC first.
