Perhaps after Legends, you might turn it over to The History Channel and catch the late replay of, I believe, the season finale of The Curse of Oak Island. (Pay Cable’s Number One Reality-Based Program!) William Shatner pays a visit to the Oak Island War Room. History Channel is nothing if not a ho for cross-promotions. Has there ever been a show this horny for the Knights Templar? Shatner will have questions.
The running theory is that two seasons ago, the guys dropped in one of their hammer-cans right on the edge of the money vault and pushed the whole thing deeper underground. Seems a little wishful-thinking but, okay, maybe. The thing they won’t say out loud is that it’s very possible (besides that there is no treasure as it may have been pilfered by any number of dudes in the 1800's) that the money vault has been blown open over the years, and any treasure, Shakespeare Parchments, and Arks of the Covenants are scattered throughout dozens of tunnels, channels, tributaries, arteries, and natural feeder shafts spider-webbing the whole soaked underground of the island and out to sea.
Still, they’ve made progress this year. They uncovered two 250 year old wharves and Samuel Ball’s property continues to fascinate. (Hollywood, the History Channel, or somebody needs to develop the story of Samuel Ball for a movie or mini-series.) There’s people who obsess over this show, so if the fellowship had found anything by season’s end, surly some rumors would have leaked last October. I wouldn’t put it past History Channel to put a conspiracy lid on any real treasure found and drag the show out for another three seasons just so they can plant some more clues pointing to the Knights Templar. “Ooh! Look at what Gary happened to find washed up on the beach randomly yet again!” Gary probably found the Oak Island treasure already and he’s keeping it in his Halifax hotel room—”finding” a new piece every three episodes. “Would’ya look at that! It’s another cribbing spike from the seventeen-nundreds. That’s a beauty, mate.” I kid, Gary. You’re the MVP.
