Some backstory that (appears to be) is true: The NYPD actually coordinated this funeral situation.

The funeral was a for a major rabbi/leader apparently. The NYPD coordinated with the community and actually shut down streets for them to gather (social distanced gather). Masked for even handed out.
It didn't work out well though
